Background and genesis

The concrete idea of the ADVANCE programme was born in Carole Ponchon’s mind as she was in the US taking part to the GSMP leadership programme.

She officially introduces the idea as a commitment to self that she will, as part of her Action Plan, develop a tool to help people tell the stories of the skills acquired through sport

Carole has long been involved in sport as a football player, a sport addict and then a sport advocate. She soon realized its potential to level the playing field and has always been working toward the recognition of its potential.
As for her concrete work on developing employability through sport and thinking of new approach to recognize the skills acquired through sport, she worked on the topic during her time working at EOSE (European Observatoire for Sport and Employment) and as a Young Delegate for ENGSO Youth.

Perspectives and objectives

It is our understanding that providing people with the necessary compass to tell the stories about the life skills developed through sport should help contribute tackling various pressing challenges of our societies (read more).:

Therefore the ADVANCE solution will focus on:

  • Objective n°1: “Find a way to counter balance the inactivity crisis using a new argument (where health, performance and fun has not worked to keep individuals on the playing field)”  – See #SportMade
  • Objective n°2: “Provide information, concrete tips, good practice examples and strategies to put into practice a story telling approach around the skills acquired through sport » – See #SportTaughtMe and the ADVANCE wizard
  • Objective n°3: “Providing hints, insights and guidance to facilitate a transfer of innovation regarding a successful method using sport and physical activity to trigger the employability of individuals – with a special focus on those at risks (NEETs young people, unemployed, ect).”  – See Test Events
