Purpose of the challenge

With the ADVANCE #SportTaughtMe Challenge, we want to push you think about the skills you have acquired trhough sport, as a a volunteer or as practitionner.

This light challenge is meant for you to 1. open your eyes regarding the huge potential of sport as a non formal and informal learning place and 2. help you articulate the stories of these skills.

This practice might be a booster for your own employability.

Interestingly the report highlights that on average, by 2022, more than a third of the desired core skill sets of most occupations will be comprised of skills that are not yet considered crucial to the job today! Technical skills will need to be supplemented with strong social and collaboration skills. this is where the power of sport and its untapped potential lies!

With the  ADVANCE wizard  we provided you with a simple tool to identify the skills you acquired through sport. Through the above #SportTaughtMe Challenge WARM UP you have come to realize what will be the most saught after skills and qualities in a near future on the job market.

Through this exercice we are aiming at helping you connecting the dots AND telling the stories of your skills.

It is not always easy to come up with some exemplary examples on how you have used and developed your SOFT skills in your sport activties right? But if you are reading it now, it certainly is a good idea to try it now and it might prove useful in the future.

Try to think of it as an exercise that will help you list the skills you have acquired AND tell the story of how you have developed them.
